So, it has been a while now since I have promised an English translation of the blog and the idea behind it has changed along the way.
The blog was planned as a kind of a portfolio – a tiny bit of space where I could show and describe things which do not fit the Curriculum Vitae nicely but are worth mentioning. And I’m keeping that up, only adding some more personal stuff. Mostly stuff loosely or tightly connected with my profession, with occasional blurbs of general amazement with the surrounding world.
And now – I will only translate the portfolio thingies. The rest of it would require a talented interpreter to make anything of it in English. And I am not one. Here we go then:

Celebrity
So I gave an interview. It is cut to the point where I don’t exactly understand myself but I reckon that’s the reality for the celebrities. I was taken by surprise. Come to think about it it is also normal for celebrities. Well, a whole new world awaits me
Babilon Strikes Back

I only managed to get back from holiday and I got this link to another foreign language learning software with a “Babylonian” name over the GoldenLine.pl forum. Maybe not straight forwardly, with a suspicion of a play of words but nevertheless Babylonian.
Ladies and Gentleman! Please welcome! Bab.la!
And I think of myself as swimming against the current. My ass. I have a mainstream intuition.
Babilon
I came up with two brand names one day. Both were left unused. The first one was for the picture dictionary for children – Vocabie. It’s on the table now, take it if you wish (would be very nice to know that you did, though).
The second one has just hit me back while doing overdue reading at Techcrunch.com. I have been pushing for a name Babilo for the General English courseware family. It was left unused because Tower of Babel is not the best association for a product for someone who actually wants to communicate with other people. And what have we got here? Babbel.
